Jav uploaded a Bentley car model and being a Lightwave guy just beginning to learn Max I tried using the included .obj in LW...which has a gazillion parts.
So thinking I would open the Max model in 2009 and re-export the .obj which I have always had good luck with, I did.
But I ended up with the very same gazillion parts anyway and the body and windows are of the same part!
I went back into Max and thinking I would find the windows by themselves and export just them alone and do the same with the body.
But to my amazement they are in fact the same part there too...yet the windows are transparent!
So how is that done? And is there a way to break them apart?
Thanks mucho...I humbly bow before you oh wizen ones....
