SpaceClaim is the world’s fastest and most innovative 3D solid modeler. It gives engineers and industrial designers the freedom and flexibility to capture ideas easily, directly edit solid models regardless of their origin, and simplify designs in 3D for analysis, prototyping, and manufacturing.
SpaceClaim lets extended design and engineering teams work concurrently, finish projects at a fraction of the cost, and accelerate time-to-market. With SpaceClaim 3D design software, you can edit 3D designs based on your intent, regardless of how the model was created, and experiment freely with design concepts, unrestricted by complex parameters and restraints.
Intuitive tools such as Pull and Move let you directly select portions of the model and put them where you want. The Combine tool divides parts into pieces and lets you merge in portions of other designs. The Fill tool cleans up small features and fills holes. Take designs where you want them to go without worrying about how to get there.
Using SpaceClaim 3D Direct Modeling drives innovation and improves collaboration. While feature-based CAD products are very powerful for detailed design work, they are not appropriate for conceptual design, engineering analysis, and simulation-driven design. SpaceClaim is easy to learn and use, cost effective, and very accurate, enabling 3D conceptual design by everyone and driving improved innovation and collaboration.
The product’s open file format and data exchange capabilities makes it easy for people to share designs and ensure that they fit within the existing development process. SpaceClaim supports common formats ACIS, STEP, IGES, ECAD, Rhinoceros, CGR, DWG, DXF, STL, OBJ, XAML, VRML, and 3D PDF (requires Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended). Many SpaceClaim customers use KeyShot from Luxion, available from SpaceClaim and tightly integrated into the SpaceClaim envinronment, for rendering as well. this is how to set up the environment variables....
It's is recommended to block SpaceClaim from accessing the internet.
Create environment variable SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE with value like
c:\program files\spaceclaim\licenses\spcclm11.dat or wherever you put license file supplied
you do this like this....
Right click on my computer then click Properties, then go to Advanced tab, then click in the bottom of that window Environment Variables, then click New to create new variable.
Now put this SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE into first empty field and c:\program files\spaceclaim\licenses\spcclm11.dat into second empty field and thats it, close all windows and start the program. when it asks for the file, browse to the foldlder where you put the .dat file.
Hope this helps.

Hello, every one! dragonogard your explanation is very welcomed specially by me!, as I was following your advice I stumped into a couple of problems: - you said "...click in the bottom of that window Environment Variables, then click New to create new variable", I got windows7 & there are 2 options to choose from! should I go for the one on the top(user variables) or the one at the bottom(system variables)?.... I went with the 2nd one yet...this things are important... please any one! hehe! I need to know if i did right!
- Ok instead of having to ask for this kind of stuff how about adding proper instructions! with the program &/or plug in! (remember that a lot of people don't know how to access this type of stuff...also take in consideration that many others forget to give proper instructions!)
I love CGpersia you are my heroes!

Thanks (Given): 3350 Thanks (Received): 1951 | try this way:
create a folder named "SpaceClaim" in C root folder
put the file "spcclm10.dat" in that folder
create a new system environment variable (not a user environment variable)
"SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE" with value "C:\SpaceClaim\spcclm10.dat"
reboot, re-start SpaceClaim
this works on : win 7 - 64bit

hey Ichio!
I will try this, I had the program running, (yet I had to unplug internet before starting the program--just in case!!--).. any way I droped the dat file in the wrong plase (acording to your message)... so I will proceed to uninstall & start from cero!... just to be on the safe side... tx!! ---------- Post added at 05:46 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:36 AM ---------- ok guys please assist me, following the previous explanations I have made the following instructions/guide yet there are 2 questions in there:
This is how to set up the environment variables....
Open SpaceClaim folder choose (win32bit.... or..... win64) & open it look for folder named MAGNITUDE open & copy file named spcclm11.dat
It's is recommended to block SpaceClaim from accessing the internet. (question: how, & hwen???)
Create environment variable................ you do this like this....(if using Win7)
Create a folder named "SpaceClaim" in C root folder, & paste the file "spcclm10.dat" in that folder
Right click on my computer then click Properties, then go to Advanced tab, then click in the bottom of that window Environment Variables, then (in system variable)click New to create new variable.
Now put this SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE into first empty field and "C:\SpaceClaim\spcclm10.dat" into second empty field and thats it, close all windows and start the program. (question should I Install the program in the folder created earlier? (where the dat file is at??,... or should I leave it with my other ones)), when it asks for the file, browse to the folder where you put the .dat file.

Observing that link, I see that we may have nailed most of the info, however the 2 questions I made, being the1st one more important, seem to go beyond that topic, it may prove useful to have a tread, or section explaining step by step, how to proceed when we encounter such issues (over all, it would save hrs, days & a lot of frustration!)...

Thanks (Given): 535 Thanks (Received): 164 | Dude, all you have to do is place that .dat file wherever you want and set a variable that refers to that damn .dat file.
- you can install the program wherever you want, not necessarlily in the same place where you put the .dat file
- you can place the .dat file wherever you want, just be sure to set the environment variable to point to that same place. For example, if you put the .dat file in c:\fuckmehard then your SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable value will be c:\fuckmehard\spcclm10.dat
- if your SPACECLAIM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable value is c:\fuckmehard\spcclm10.dat and you place a file called spcclm11.dat in your c:\fuckmehard folder, then SpaceClaim won't work, and you deserve it.
