Actually, 7 was cracked pretty fast. It was released somewhere around October - November of the last year and the cracked version of Vue 7 was available in December around Christmas. It was not 5 month, it was less.

I don't remember what site I grabbed it from, but it was not a torrent, it was a set of rs links. And I am pretty sure it was January at latest. Even the text document that explained how to put the spells on the program had some Christmas greetings in its body. But this is not the point, the point is it MIGHT take less than 5 months. Although, it might remain unkracked. It has been a while since the last V-Ray was released, but as far as I know there is no good cracked version of it out there.

Vue 7 was released ir 2008 November (or late October), Eon.Vue.7_xStream.X86.X64.iSO (with Dirfix) was pred in 2009 January (2009-01-02) and Eon.Vue.7.xStream.X86.X64.iSO.CrackFix-ENGiNE was pred in the same month (2009-01-11), so it took 2.5-3 months till our hands.

ok we don't have a crack still yet but do have a small workaround. Install the iso as rendernode, create your scene, then go to render options select external renderer. This won't show a screen preview when rendering but will write your file to the hardrive as a jpeg or whatever you created it as. No watermark

well like i said its a workaround for use of the program itself. Seems testing both max 2009 and 2010 64bit, any vue attempt causes max to go unresponsive and eventually crash. Not saying this workaround was a solid solution for everyone, but until a crack is done, at least its useable as standalone.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but you can use this in your 3D program without crashing if you edit -

\Program Files\e-on software\Vue 8 xStream\xStream_Render_Node.cfg

change -
xStreamRenderNode = true
to
xStreamRenderNode = false

Unfortunately you will still have watermarks as there seems to be no way to choose the external render-er , but you can still play around with it.

This change should not effect opening the program and using as standalone.

X-force couldn't crack the last 3 versions, ENGiNE on the other hand has. Those are the people who are already working on it, be patient, in the meantime read the workaround also posted here and you can gain full use with the exception of watching it render on screen during render. You get the same results as a full licensed copy.

If V-Ray is already loaded and selected as the active renderer when you're loading/creating the Vue scene in Maya, then xStream will setup the connection between the xStream shader and V-Ray. If V-Ray has not yet been loaded and selected as the active renderer, this connection is made when first rendering your Vue scene with V-Ray, but the changes occur only after the end of the render. So, if you're rendering again your scene, it should render correctly this time. It is therefore suggested to load and configure V-Ray before creating the Vue scene, so that you won't experience any black render.

Just try new "Arbor scene" at sample 1 with 800x600 pix (final resolution) for example

i found this awesome tip about Vue 8 video memory

One of the new features in Vue 8 is the Open Gl 2.1 (shader 4) model. If your graphics card supports this shader model, it is selectet as the default 3D view quality setting automatically.This feature also enables the shaded billboard feature for displaying ecosystems. Have a look on page 440 in the Vue reference manual for more details. Per default a value of 128MB of your video cards memory is assigned for displaying the shaded billboards. If your scene contains a lot of plants this might be not enough and a warning message pops up whicht tells you that the display of the ecosystem will be switched to the traditional non shaded billboard isplay. Altough in this dialogue you are able to increase the amount of memory used.
But which amount might be the right value and where in Vue's option can you cahnge this value ?
For my 512MB video card I have set a value of 350MB which can be used for dispaying shaded billboards. This setting does not make any problems on my system. As a rule of thumb: Subtract an amount of 150-160MB of the total memory amount of your graphics card and use this value for displaying shaded billboards. E.g. If your graphics card has 1Gig of RAM you can assing 850MB.
Maybe you have already looked in Vue's options for changing this value here. You can stop pulling your hair because you did not find the option. The reason is simple: At the time of writing this, this option does not exist. Maybe it comes with an update.
The value is stored (Windows7) in the following xml file where you can edit the value directly:
c:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\e-on software\Vue 8 Infinite\Config\environment.xml
If you are using another version of the OS do a search for the xml file on your computer.

Note: Username is the name you are logged in with.

If you can't find the envirnment.xml file on your PC, simply go to Vue's options dialogue and exit it with saving - no need to edit anything, just save and the file will be created.

Now open the xml file in an editor like PsPad - the Windows editor will do this too.
Look for this entry:


Change the value to the value based on the formula described above (total video memory minus 150-160MB).
If Vue does not start with this value or you are encountering problems while working with Vue, open the xml again and reset the value to the default 128.

Althouth the described formula of thumb works for me, I can give absolutly no guarantee that it will work with other system. As always: Make sure you have a backup of the original file. You will do the modification described in this article on your own risk.
