Default HP Workstation XW8000 - CANT INSTALL WIN 7 64bit

.
Hey there

Specs:
HP Workstation XW8000 - mini tower
x2 Intel(R) Xeons 3200.MHz (Prestonia)
3 Gigs upgradable to 12gigs (x6 DIMMS - I have x6 2gb sticks ready to replace the x6 512mb sticks)
WinXP Pro 32bit

Basically I want to freshly install Windows 7 64 bit. Now accordingly to HP, the reason I recieve the below error:

File: \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Status: 0x000035a

Info: Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this cpu is not compatible with 64-bit mode.

is apparently due the Xeon processors (I have) does not have the VT switch (Virtual Technology) in BIOS to enable. And apparently this all changed after 2006 where the newer BIOS can. Unfortunately, I believe, the Processors I have date back to 2004 or 2005. Its funny, because the PDF Specs of this machine states it doe support 64bit. Oh well.

I have used the VMWARE compatibilty App, and this too states non-64bit compatibilty.

Now my first question being - I know its an shot in the dark, but is there still the slightest chance I can install WIN 7 64bit, using my current setup? I've upgraded the BIOS drivers and still no go. Although I think I updated it.. but then should this really matter?

Second question: So, if I cant install a 64bit OS, Can somebody tell me Which components/processers would I need to upgrade. This would REALLY help rather than the above.
I've basically done my head getting this taken off my To do list.

Thanks and much appreciation.

Regards
Stolen

in order to run 64 bit you need 64 bit cpu so i guess it is self explanatory

as for 2nd guestion check your socked, you did not said which one it is, only thrown some raw data making peole guess your setup. 605? 775? 1366?

If you have 604 then

Nocona,Irwindale,Cranford,Potomac,Paxville MP,tulsa are 604 and have intel 64

The only thing in question is choose/find what you want and price

Those codenames i listed are for socket 604 and acording to info are 64 bit, pick one of them and replace, as for if you want to replace it all it is your call, also if you want to replace only cpu's update your bios and check compatible cpu on your mobo provider page to be sure your mobo will run them

You can refer to this list for cpu's names once you check compatible cpu's list from your mobo provider page

Links:

Search for socket 604 and intel 64, and then browse stores

Start with choosing your new processors. Check and see if they will work in your current mobo. I doubt they will. Choose new mobo. Check and see if your memory will work with new mobo. I doubt they will. Choose new memory. Should probably replace the power supply by this point. Unless your hdd's are sata compatible, youll need to replace those. Video card? Probably end up replacing it.

So as wall-e said, just replace everything besides your case, and be done with it.
