Default Motion Capture

I was just watching War Hammer behind the scenes video and there was a part where they showed some amazing motion capture for their characters. So I was just wondering if somebody wants to make an animation(just for fun) and wants to add motion capture in it, of course he'll need all the hardware sensors, software to make it look realistic but while I was on Wiki reading about it, it said that it's prohibitive for small productions. So is there anyway to get it?

Ok first Picard (LOL thanks!)

Links:

Second nobody work for fun expect idiots or unemployed drunk people.

Anyway you can do mocap with autodesk movimento and 2 cams

But mocap involves other things more difficult, like rigging and re targeting the motion capture data to your rig no to mention calibration and crap like that.

If you can do something more simple just film some guy doing an action from 2 directions and use that as a reference

I've got to agree with Picard on this one...

Small productions, or anyone for that matter, can find mocap files all over the place, for free, so what exactly are you asking someone to do? Dress up in a monkey suit and glue ping-pong balls all over themselves?

Then star from something more easy like keyframe animation, mocap itīs just a tool, and involves more tech than art.

For small productions mocap can be used, you can contract services and they help you in the data conversion but all have costs

if you really want to mocap something without money grab 2 cams, shot a guy doing stuff and put that in back in maya 3dsmax houdini lightwave and keyframe the movements.

Animators resolve more complex things in less time doing keyframe animation ,than entire mocap facilities.
