hey o0o0o0o0o.

I'm running the 2017 float crack you provided. It had the libs, a lic.dat, and the adkflex binary.

This new crack... all we need is to swap the libs and register as described? no more need for any of the above? Could 2017 and 2018 coexist?

L.

Yes with this new 2018 crack you only need to replace files and register. I think It is also possible that Maya 2017 and 2018 can coexist. I have such a configuration.

Hi,

I am very sorry about earlier message. Those links which I provided were for Maya 2017.

Now here is a fix:

These should work:

I was really, really tired when I made my mistake. I have had serious insomnia, you know. That is why I am not
working at all, I am a hobbyist with Maya 2018.

Where did you guys find the linux tarfile from? Autodesk no longer seems to be doing free-trials for the linux version of Maya2018.

oh god, sorry nevermind. I copied the links and was using curl instead of clicking on them. Thanks very much for the release!

Hi! Where do you put those lines? In the MayaConfig.pit file? I tried to open it with gedit but got an error saying it has unrecognizable characters and I may break it.

I am on Ubuntu. I opened terminal, I typed tcsh, I got a prompt like "~# "
and I pasted each line at a time and each time I got the message "Command not found". What am I doing wrong? I even tried to open tcsh with sudo

edit: I put "echo" before the lines in tcsh and I don't get anymore "Command not found" but Maya still asks for activation

edit2: forgot to mention: I have installed Maya 2017.3 too and is running fine

Found the issue: one of the files from the usr folder has not been copied. I manually copied and now Maya works fine. It looks like 2018 starts faster than 2017

From the required packages I could not make the following command: " sudo dpkg -i libxp6_1.0.1-2ubuntu0.12.04.2_amd64.deb" and got the following error: "dpkg: error processing archive libxp6_1.0.1-2ubuntu0.12.04.2_amd64.deb (--install): cannot access archive: No such file or directory Errors were encountered while processing: libxp6_1.0.1-2ubuntu0.12.04.2_amd64.deb"
Is this going to affect my installation?(I already got to step 7 without other errors)
  1. I cannot find the lic.dat file at step 7. Could you please tell me where I can get it to edit it? Should I make one?
  2. Also, when trying to copy adskflex it says "cp: cannot stat 'adskflex' no such file or directory" - and I mention that I already have one in the destination folder.
  3. For the "sudo /usr/autodesk/maya2018/bin/adlmreg -i S 657J1 657J1 2018.0.0.F 666-69696969 /var/opt/Autodesk/Adlm/maya2018/MayaConfig.pit" I get the following error: libadlmutil.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am stuck bringing maya to start on Ubuntu 17.10

Was running fine under 16.04 LTS. Did a fresh install of 17.10.
Always when starting maya from command line, I just get: Segmentation fault (core dumped)

From the /var/log/apport.log, I get:

ERROR: apport (pid 8607) Sat Oct 28 21:48:45 2017: called for pid 8595, signal 11, core limit 0
ERROR: apport (pid 8607) Sat Oct 28 21:48:45 2017: executable: /bin/bsd-csh (command line "/bin/csh -f /usr/autodesk/maya/bin/maya")
ERROR: apport (pid 8607) Sat Oct 28 21:48:45 2017: debug: session gdbus call: (true,)
ERROR: apport (pid 8607) Sat Oct 28 21:48:45 2017: this executable already crashed 2 times, ignoring

Anyone having maya running on Ubuntu 17.10 ?
Any tricks ? (maybe also to get more log files...)

launch /usr/autodesk/maya2018/bin/maya.bin instead of the maya2018 file.

So I did: sudo apt-get install libtbb2 libtbb-dev

But can not finde any libtbb_preview to symlink... damn..any suggestions?

If you're on ubuntu or derivative... and please check the path before committing to the command as I am doing it from memory.

sudo ln -s /usr/autodesk/maya2018/lib/libtbb_preview.so.2 /usr/lib64/libtbb_preview.so.2

in the future, in case you don't know, use the locate command to find the missing libs :

locate libtbb_preview.so.2

Thank you so much for your help, after trying for hours and hours nearly loosing my nerves, it finally works!
Thanks to your help :-)

That did the trick: sudo ln -s /usr/autodesk/maya2018/lib/libtbb_preview.so.2 /usr/lib64/libtbb_preview.so.2

@vjmag ... quick follow up.

The fix I gave you was pretty shit

here's something slightly better...

stick this into a file, chmod +x it. and use it to launch maya on ubuntu 17.10

#!/bin/csh -f
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/xgen/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/substance/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/camd/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/fbx/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/MASH/lib:/usr/autodesk/maya2018/plug-ins/xgen/lib
/usr/autodesk/maya2018/bin/maya.bin
