i heard this bugger only supports Quadro cards. "supports" is a broad word, like with Maya, but i hope it's not to picky with Geforce cards.

win7 x64 & quadro 4800 work here.

sometimes when navigating inside Mari makes the pc use 90% of the cpu and seems to not be responding.it's an alpha or driver bug.latest nvidia driver btw.
paints ok but only opens some of the objs like neox suggested.
needs more work till final release but will surely help to get familiar with.

cheers!

The linux version is a lot more stable than this one (both beta and release). This version locks up and causes Windows 7 to crash. I have a highend workstation with a quadro 4800 and tons of ram. I'll wait until a more stable for windows, but till then, I'll stick to the linux version.

ehh..... i can't open even the simplest models. oh well. at least i can look at the interface and read all the user manuals, which is better than nothing. but Mari itself unusable for me. too bad. i've been looking forward to learning this with my free time.

ok, note that it indeed is slow, and the shaders palette doesn't seem to be implemented in it. thats a big lack when you want to do advanced texturing. But for testing purpose, it's okay.

I think its unlikely Mari will be 32-bit anywhere in the near future, its 64-bit only for now, both on windows & linux.

Let's see if this version is fully compatible with ATI Radeon GPUs...

Nope, it installed but the Windows Explorer wasn't fully functional and it doesn't view .obj files on this version either.

Mari does not yet support ATI cards, it 'officially' supports nvidia Quadro's but should run well on a decent Geforce GTX card I reckon.

its not 7000 dollars, its only 900 and software developers can choose whatever hardware they want to support.

Im in the same boat. I have my two workstations as ATI, and my older node is a quadro(really old). So no Mari for me either.
Nvidia is taking over; your next cards should be Nvidia for sure.

mari works for my . i have a quad with a nvidia gts 250 1gb card .
i discovered already two posible bugs from this alpha version .
1- the depth masking dont work
2- the image selection dont work
the second bug is not very important but the depth masking is very useful in projection painting.

WINDOWS 7x64 -- i7930 -- 12GB -- Nvidia GTX480 1.5GB -- MARI IS WORKING LIKE CHARM SO FAR...YEAAHHH REALLY NICE PICE OF SOFT!!
THANKS NOMAD, I WISH I HAD YOUR BABES MAN!

OBS: the nvidia 400 series GPUs have a very different architecture from its predecessors (gtx280, maybe they are not well supported). All OBJs loaded perfect here!
Also people must remember that you will be painting on the projection "plane" and it takes a little time for it to be projected on the model specially in a 8k plus map!!!!!

Cant seem to tweak the correct parameters for DEPTH MASK (not useful)
but the most important ones (EDGE MASK, AMBIENT OCCLUSION and CHANEL MASK) are working perfectly :
